At home I can only get an Orange (1800mhz) signal behind the house. Is there a Repeater system that receives the signal from an external antenna and then re-transmits it into the house?

yep, but they're not cheap - you'll need to speak with Orange. You migt be able to botch some kind of car kit aerial for less
