Malware

Checking through my cookies I noted two little 'mischiefs' of malware. I could not think where they were coming from. But now I know . . . . .
One is tradedoubler and the other is doubleclick.
I deleted them from my cookies and then opened Answerbank. Checked my cookies again and yes - they were there. When you log in to Answerbank, look at the bottom of your screen as it is loading, and you will momentarily see these two nuisances pop up. I am unsure whether they are malicious, but they fall into the category of spyware and malware. They might just be 'stalking' me . . . . .

Tradedoubler is an affiliate company. You sign up through them and, whenever anyone clicks on a particular link on your website, you get paid a commission. Tradedoubler monitors this by the use of cookies. When you click on a particular link it adds or amends a cookie on your computer. It shouldn't cause any problems and many, many sites do this. You can, of course, delete the cookies and set up your browser not to accept them.
I think you all need to get things into perspective .... not all cookies of this type are malware
maybe more like misguided ware .... but not mal
(I also hate ppl trying to takeover my machine) but even the BBCattempt to "enhance " your "experience by monitoring your useage and then pushing content they think is suited to you.
others exist on sponsorship their service is free .... you just have to look at a few adverts .... the host get all their bills paid ... almost everybody is happy.
your bank monitor's your useage to "look after" you.
cookies are a fact of life .... and if you don't detect any ... well perhaps it's because there are none there!!!
