Driver for Blackberry as a Modem?

Does anyone know of a driver that allows a blackberry 8100 (pearl) to act as an ANALOG modem, i.e. connect to a dial-up ISP using voice minutes on my phone? The drivers provided by RIM cause it to connect over the GPRS/EDGE data network, rather than voice. If a driver doesn't exist, is there a way of modifying the existing driver (maybe cutting and pasting protocols from some other analog modem drivers) to add this functionality to my device?
