"server not found"

Had problems tonight with the internet on both laptops, they are connected by wireless, but tonight the main laptop decided to try to 'dial up' but was still connected to wireless. i could not get it to stop. so removed the old information re dial up. We managed to get this machine back onto internet.
i now can't get the second laptop to load ie msn or bbc sites it keeps saying "server not found" like its timing out . It does show that it's online and i can't see any problem with this laptop. It's in the same room as this one. We have also done virus checks on both machines nothing has been altered on either machine and they were working perfectly yesterday. Has anyone got any advise please? Thanks
