hi. i always use the net at my mums. i am thinking of getting a laptop and connecting to the internet at home. but all the deals i have looked up online seem to require a credit check, which i know there is no chance on earth i will pass. i remember when my mum connected to the net she just bought the computer and picked up an aol disk from a service station, popped it in, entered her debit card details for mothly payment and that was it, no credit check!! so basiclly i dont want to splash out on a laptop and get my phone line connected (will cost 36) (which i have no other use for) just to be told i cant have the net. can anyone please help me. thanks. x
How do you know there wasn't a credit check for your mother? There usually is one for any financial product, whether you're getting a mortgage or buying a new blouse from a catalogue.
I know it's late, but just to clear something up. You do not HAVE to get broadband from BT. What you get from BT is Line rental, and yes, you will be tied to this for a year, but actual broadband you can go to who you like (providing of course line rental from them is NOT part of the deal)
