they need to be in mp4 format and then its as easy as adding music.

Yeah, pretty easy. Find the movie you want to add to itunes/ipod. Go to File, then "add file to library" it will be able to tell that it's an video file. Then connect your Ipod to the computer/laptop, and it should be easy as 123 from there on.
