Hi I have just bought the acoustic solutions dvd160rw300 dvd recorder, and connected it to my video, i recorded a couple of home movie clips to a dvd-rw, so that i can put the disc in my computer then edit the clips.
However there is nothing showing on the disc when it is in my comp. the clips are on the disc because i played them back on dvd recorder.
So why is my computer not showing anything, according to the dvd recorder manual you do not have to finalise rws.
can anyone please help , i must be missing something.
Thank you.

What's the recording "format" used in the recorder - it may be one not recognised by computers - in plain English - is it .mpg or .wmv maybe or something else?

It says in the manual in the specifications list, video type is mpeg-2 video standard decoding (mpeg-1 supported).
I have xp with nero on my comp so the relevant codecs shoud be on.
Check your manual - there will probably be a mention of "finalising" the disc so that it can be recognised by other devices.
Oops, didn't see the last part of your post.I would still finalise though - you can always erase the disc later.

there is no option to finalise a cd-rw or cd+rw, says in manual that only none rewritables need finalising.
Pity. Seeing as recordable DVDs are now as cheap as CDs, I would record onto them?

Best of Luck!
