Removing Norton

Thanks ACtheTROLL, you were right about the incomplete download. I downloaded from your link to my computer at work and saved to a memory stick. I saved this to my laptop at home and it ran ok and seems to have done the trick. My next job is to create recovery discs and then try again to download the free antivirus etc. Are there any complications like disabling firewalls etc to consider?

no ... should be ok - most third party antiV and firewall progs will config windows ok on their own
