Buying a Remote Control

I need to buy a new remote control for my VHS recorder, I have seen one on eBay which is identical, however it has a different model number. Does this mean it won't work ? Biddings ends tonight, so answers please ! Many thanks

Mfrs tend to use the same codes in all their products .... but having said that if you look at any universal remote ... the big manufacturers often have 10 or more possibilities listed .... so it's almost impossible to give a definite answer.
my sky remote looks very like the sky+ one .... but not a single button works
try looking on the support pages of the mfr's website.
