AVG Virus Vault

Currently I have 4 items from 2006, 6 items from 2007 and now over 12 items for 2008 in the AVG Virus Bank. Am I right in thinking that if I select 'remove from virus bank' icon on AVG tool bar and click, the items selected will be removed/wiped/deleted/permanently disappeared/exterminated , never to reappear on this computer or will they continue to reside somewhere else inside the computer?
