Supanet connection
2 Answers
Hi AB'ers, my isp is Supanet, the broadband connection speed is over the last few days virtually nil (took 2 mins for this page to load!) Is anyone else with Supanet having problems? I am in Cumbria so it may be the region?. I've e-mailed them with no replies and a phonecall was as much use. :(

If that doesn't do it, then check to see what programmes you have running, something may be trying to update itself without telling you. Run a virus check, spyware check and do a disk defrag - usually more useful if the computer itself is slow, but it never hurts to do one anyway.
If you get no joy from that then it could be a problem with the phone lines in the area, Supanet's servers could be having some maintenance especially at the time you're posting.
If you're sure it's not your machine, run some speed checks, google "broadband speed check" and see what it comes up with. if it's way below what you usually get, then at least you have something to take to Supanet and get them to look at it.
Hope that helps

Thanks Cakeboy, as you may have gathered I couldn't get back on the net to post this earlier. Turns out bt have been doing stuff to the local network, although Supanet knew, they didn't have the decency to forewarn me 9a simple email would do). It's caused loads of hassle cos my son needed uni stuff and had to travel to sort it out for the last few days. Thanks again....Dagman
