I have a second hand mobile phone up for auction. I received a question from an eBay member with no feedback asking for me to send him the phone to have a look at it. I replied saying that I would not do this. He sent a message back saying that he will leave me negative feedback! (I know unless he buys the item he cannot do this). I ignored the message. I then received another one saying that if I send him my phone, he will send me another one in return. Again I declined and said that I wanted to leave the phone in the auction. He then asked if I had a buy it now price, I replied saying that I wanted to leave the phone in auction and if he wanted the phone then he would have to bid for it. He has just sent me another message saying that I am not treating him fairly and he is going to complain about me! Is there anything I can do? Also if he bids on my phone is there anything I can do, as I do not want to sell it to him. I know that sounds awful but his last message was quite abusive and I'm not sure if I trust him. Thanks for any advice. Daffi x

Some people on ebay don't have a clue do they? This is unrelated but .... the other day I looked up some Body Shop moisturiser and found it on ebay for 25 when the Body Shop website has it for 24 and the ebayer had put on 2.99 postage when the Body Shop website does it for free! I thought, good luck selling that!
Be careful. We 'sold' a mobile on Ebay and we even recieved an email saying that funds had been paid into our Paypal account and we could now post the mobile. It was the first time I had sold anything, but thought it was unusual only because the email addressed me differently to other emails Ebay sent i.e. it used my surname instead of user name. I forwarded the email to ebay and they confirmed that it was spoof mail and I had not received payment.
I could have easily posted it thinking I had been paid and would have just lost the item. There is a big scam going on in Nigeria and they use bully tactics. I remember being very nervous too as they have all your address details etc
IMPORTANT- Don't reply to any emails or click on any links contained in them.

Good luck and don't let it put you off - I have sold lots since, but mobiles just seem to attract this type of scam.

Hi toby99! I always check my paypal account first, just to make sure the funds are in there. If I get a email saying I have a question from a buyer then I log into eBay and reply from there. I have never really had any problems until this bloke, he isn't really a major issue but he was aggressive which is why I wanted to report him.
