sending photo attachments

I am probably in wrong section -so here goes- how do I resize photos to send by e-mail? I want to send photos to come out about 12cm. x9cm. and I cannot reduce the size of attachment .Can anyone help me please? in plain English please Thanks in advance

You don't mention your editing software, but I tend to plug Irfanview whenever anyone has problems with re-sizing, as it saved my sanity - it's also free.

Don't just use the zoom facility as this doesn't actualy change the size of the original image. In my prog (PaintShop Pro) I use "Image : Resize". If in doubt, open your own software and type "resize" into the help box. Or tell us which software you're using.
Also, you may want to save the smaller image as a separate file so that you still have the original. Is this plain English? I bet it's not even though it seems to make sense to me!
It's not a program or camera that I'm familiar with but I've had a Google, and found your program with re-sizing instructions.

this an answer to Cetti, I finally tried by reading the instructions from U-Lead you said from your answer (with great difficulty I must state: looked like the original photos I wanted to make smaller) I finally sent them with success Many thanks for your help. I am goimg to try Irfanview when I have some spare time. Thanks for all the answers Gennifer
