I had a new phone from a mobile phone company. My contract ends in April 08. However I called in Jan 08 and specifcally asked whether if I get a new phone, does this mean I have to stay with the company. I was told I was 'not obliged to stay with 3 once the current contract ends'. Therefore had a new phone as mine was not working well. Now they say I agreed to a new contract for another 18 months, which I never agreed to. I dont wish to stay with the company as I rarely get a signal and thus not worth having a mobile if I cant use it. So they are adamant I have to pay out for the 'new' contract which is 848. Hardly fair. Any advice ?
i think you've been naive. If you think a company are going to "give" you a new mobile (which probably cost up to 200 quid) for using it with them for 3 months then youve been a bit silly. however, phone cmpanies are not unknown to tell lies to get people to sign with them
Most contracts have a clause in them saying that by accepting a new phone you have also accepted a new contract with them. If you have any documentation with the phone, check it and see if it states that this phone is a replacement for one that is not working properly or if it states that you have accepted a new contract
