Help needed retreiving data from a camcorder disc please :0)
3 Answers
Hi, On a couple of my camcorder discs a message appears that says disc error and I can't record or playback from that disc any longer. It tells me to turn the camcorder off so it can try to repair the disc or something. This doesnt work and I was hoping somebody might know how to watch the data on the disc another way or get it back somehow? The only place i've found that will have a go at it is pc world but they want 35 to try regardless of whether they can fix the disc or not and, as theres only about half an hours recording on it , I thought it was a bit steep so I want to see if anyone has any suggestions. My DVD camcorder is a Hitachi DZ-BX35E.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Happy easter!

Mind you if it would work then it'd be cheaper to buy a dvd player for my comp than take the disc to pc world! It's a small disc aswell not a dvd size, more like a mini so would that work on a comp dvd player?
Thanks for your reply. Any other suggestions appreciated!!

Hi,
Without access to a pc based DVD player your opions are very limited. Mini DVDs aren't very reliable at the best of times so if the machine that made the recording cannot play the disc, chances are the info on it is lost.
If you had access to a DVD based PC I'd suggest using eithe DVD shrink or DVD Decrypter ( both freeware ) to see if they could access the files on the disc.
Other than that you could search this website for help as this question comes up quite frequently.
