Alba Freeview STB2 box not working

I bought Alba freeview STB2 box 6 months ago. It worked well, but suddenly its remote is not working. So I bought a new remote. But the new remote too is not working. Then I asked the seller that the new remote is not working. He advised me to check with digital camera showing it against - it blinks. When I tested, the remote is perfect. Hence, I found that the Alba Freeview box is not working. It works manually but not with remote. Can anyone help.

You might get a better response if you put it in the right place. As for the problem, it is either internal, in which case nothing you can do, or the sensor is mucky and needs cleaning.

Thanks Postdog but do you mean cleaning internally or externally. I even tried putting the remote close to the box and tried but it's not working.

Rule one with all problematic electrical equipment, remove power from it for 30sec power back up and see if that works if not try cleaning the front of the unit, as previous poster said, may just be dirty.

If that doesn't work I would simply say get a new one... freeview boxes can be brought for under �20 from places like tesco or asda now, it's just simply isn't worth paying out to repair them, sorry I know that isn't really an ecologicly sound answer.
