I have a Netgear 54 Mbps wireless router, and I am wondering if it is possible to somehow wirelessly transmit, say, a video from my PC to my television. If so, what do I need to get? Thanks.
I may be wrong, but i cannot remember ever seeing such an item.
I've worked in IT for the last few years and have a big interest in technology as a whole.....but im not sure about sending video from a PC to TV wirelessly.
You can sometimes hook up your PC to your TV....and can get small "media centres", which look like an external HD, that plugs into your TV, and you can watch video that way.
If you do find out how to do what you ask, let me know...! :)
technically, it is possible to send anything digitally that is on your PC however you would need a receiver that can decode the signal and then re-display it.
This may not be what you're after but Kiss (division of Linksys make modems and routers) do a HDD DVD recorder Kiss DP558 with a built in ethernet port. It is possible to record a tv prog and link it to your pc. Only has an analogue tuner so stuck with just the five channels, until they switch off analogue.
Thanks for your replies. These things seem to transmit vids from the computer. I am not sure how the TV picks them up....... I need to speak to a human being .
the box of tricks is just like your video/dvd/sky .... or whatever else you have plugged in to it
it just plugs in to the back of the telly ... scart, aerial, or hdmi
but I agree ... if you can ... see one in the flesh
