When I log into ebay with Mozilla Firefox, my screen name is saved, and my password comes up automatically without me having to type it in. I haven't ticked the box which says 'Keep me logged in for today'. Is it safer to try and get rid of this automatic password coming up ??

Is this on a public computer? A laptop that could be stolen?

If you are the only user of the pc and it is unlikely to be stolen, it will be perfectly okay

Yes I am the only user, but can I stop the password from automatically popping up? I would rather type it in when I need to use it.
Yes you can.

Click alt and o together

Click the 'security' tab and 'show passwords'

Then click on 'firefox' in the list an delete

Hi Ethel, can't get alt and o to work together. Nothing happens ... Is there any other way to open Security and Passwords, do I have to close down Firefox and AOL first ?? :)
Oh! Alt and o should work in firefox.

As they don't -

Tools - options - security ....

Thanks, that worked. Ethel, is it a good idea to use a different password for each site, or the same one? If I have a senior moment one day, I am afraid I will never remember my different passwords ... I have so many !!
You are supposed to have different passwords for each site. :(

I get round this by having one very strong password - a mixture of letters, numbers and punctuation marks that I have memorised.

I change the third letter of my password for the first word of the site in every case.

You'll find a method that suits you.
