Can I tell if I'm being Piggy Backed?

Heres my scenario.

I am using a BT Voyager 2110 router, that is conected to my Pc via ethernet to port 1. I recently had to change the settings from WPA to WEP in order to get the Nintendo DS / Wii to work wirlessly with it. It should be secure as when i search for an access point my network shows up with a red padlock and anyone trying to use it would need the wep key. Recently, I have noticed that the wirless light on the router is flashing indicating activity even when the Ds or Wii are not in use and are disconected from the mains.

Dose this mean that I'm being highjacked? Is there any way of checking?

From my experience, the flashing on the router merely indicates that it is connected ready for use. Mine does this too.

I recently got an iPod touch and I have been amazed at the number of unlocked wifi signals that I can pick up. The BT Voyager signals are generally OK. The worse seems to be the Belkin 54g, they are always open.

In your router (I'm not familiar with your model), you may be able to turn on logging. If so, try doing this for a few days and see if you find anything unusual.

WEP isn't much better than no security at all, since it can now easily be brute force attacked within a matter of seconds.

The Wii likes to continuously check the Internet for updates and will automatically download them unless you specifically change the settings in the menu. That might well be your internet activity
