I have upgraded my broadband from 512 to 8GB Pipex package, now it no longer works with my 2Wire HG Wireless router. The DSL connects, but no internet. It has some kind of 'ATM' problem. I have fiddled with a few settings but no joy. It works ok with a regular modem. I'd love wireless though. Any ideas? The 2Wire HG is a pretty old model.
Baffled.

Check to see if there are any firmware updates for your router on the manufacturers website.

Hi jh, lovin your tunes.

I'll try that. It does it automatically, but assumes a connection. I'll try with a floppy disk .
It might be a good idea to buy a more modern wireless router with a built in adsl modem to save you any grief. They can be bought very cheaply these days.
2wires are not the best at hanging onto a line with a low SNR margin, which at 8mb (not Gb... that would be an awesome broadband speed to have!!) you are likely to have.

netgears are regarded at being the about the best

Also any new broadband connection can take upto 10days to stabilise while the router and the exchange go through a training phase
