Hi,

When I turn my computer base unit on it I need to leave it on for about 30 mins and then re-start it before it will work.

Once started it works fine - any ideas how I can solve this?

What a nuisance. Simple things first - see what programs you have in your start up folder.

Start-run

Type

msconfig

in the box and click 'startup'. If you have printers, office suites, real player, media player, games and other things you do not need to automatically start up, untick them.

If you do not recognise anything in this folder, either google to find out what they are, or leave alone.
Reboot.

Any improvement?
Sounds like the behaviour of an antivirus program doing a full scan at startup.
