transferring hi8 tapes to d.v.d disc via wmv

I have transfered hi 8 footage to my laptop through windows movie maker.i now need to burn this to a d.v.d.disc but it will only give me the option to burn onto a cd r anybody help.p.s I have a freecom classic external burner,which i also cannot use.Each time i transfer the files to this it will not give me the option to burn

Windows Movie maker does not support burning DVDs (as you have found), only burning to CD formats. I would suggest saving the file in Movie Maker as a movie file (.avi) and then use burning software such as Nero or Sonic MyDVD to convert and burn them to DVD. You need software that has specific DVD burning functionality to do this.
