WMV files

I installed nero 8 a few days ago and ever since when i get e-mails with a WMV attachment they will not open, I get a message saying ... This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. create an association in the folder options control panel.
sorry I may be thick but thats like talking martian to me, what do I do and is it to do with Nero 8 ???

Open Windows Media Player

Click the tiny arrow under 'sync' and then 'more options'

Click the 'tile type' tab

Make sure wmv is tcked.


That should do it.

thanx ethel just tried that but makes no difference, still getting same message appear and still wont open files

try right clicking on the wmv file select open with and then choose program scroll down on the list of available programs that comes up and select windows media player, then put a tick in the box that says always use selected program to open this type of file and click on OK

Yep thats it Markysngc, it appears that nero has taken over from windows media player, as the default player but I did what you said and it plays fine....CHEERS, just have to figure out why windows wont play as default now!!!
