I want to be able to edit certain instruments out of backing tracks I have downloaded so as I can play the guitar live over them, or download backing tracks without the guitar in them to play over, does anybody have any advice as to what computer program I could use or a site with the tracks? Thought about midi files but the tracksb are so poor quality that I don't really wanna use them.
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Sorry I can't answer your question exactly but have you heard of "Play The Guitar With" series of books with CDs? They are exactly as you describe - with the tabs in a book included. They do sell them in music shops but tend to be very expensive - you would be better buying from Ebay. I found this fantastic guy who was able to match one of his books with 3 out of 5 of my son's favourite groups (Sum 41, Bowling for Soup and Blink Somthing or Other!!) by trawling through his computer records. His number is 01752 823672. Good luck.
