How can I find out which is the right laptop for me?
3 Answers
I'm not quite a technophobe, but I'm not an IT geek either! I have a very old PC which I want to replace, and I think a laptop would be a good replacement, considering that it's not used on a daily basis. I want to be able to use all the bits in Windows XP, manage photos, and have a couple of very basic games on it. I hear that the more memory it has, the quicker it can do things, so being a rather impatient person, thats important. Does anyone know of a website for idiots that might have something like tick boxes for requirements, and can then tell you what laptop would suit me best?

Your needs are fairly basic, so don't go spending more than about 350 or so. Anything more will likely be a waste.
Since you're used to XP, and Vista is still a nightmare (always will be), I'd try hard to find a laptop with XP on it, not Vista. In Vista, things are moved about from where they used to be in XP and before, making things more complicated for someone used to XP.
