Blaupunkt Hamburg question/problem.........

I have this head unit and it works fine however when connecting my usb hard disk it doesn't recognise it. I looked on some forums and apparently it works when the hard disk is formatted using ubuntu(some linux thing), however being a purely microsoft household is there any application running on windows that i can use which will format it in this particular way(whatever way that is)
