inserting a website

i have previously asked this question before but i just dont understand how to insert a "clikc here" link to a website in an answer on ab. I have tried to go to the links i was sent to help me understand this but it was no success. please help. just tell me the steps as if you were adding the link in your answer to somebodys question.

I'll break it down as simply as possible. There are experts on here far cleverer than me when it comes to this sort of thing but this is how I do it. Let's say I was answering you now and wanted to insert a link into this reply. I'd type as far as I needed then go to Google(in My Favourites) or another search engine. From there I'd find a page that answered my question. Put the arrow/cursor into the address bar of that page. Right click(the address should now highlight in blue and a drop down menu appear. Left click 'Copy'. Now keep hitting the back button on the top left of your browser until you come back to the Answerbank page you were on. Go to the answer you were typing and Right click. In the drop down menu chose 'Paste'. Job done. Sorry if that appeared patronising, it isn't meant to be, I am just attempting to make the instructions as easy to follow as possible. Let us know how you get on.

ok i got that but how do you make it say click here instead of having the whole link displayed?

Peanut : If you put in the code from my above answer, the only thing that will appear when you post the message is the 'click here' bit. Just replace the text in double quotes with the address you want to link to, the full thing, including the http:// bit.

OK, I've been coding HTML since 1996. I understand some people don't like seeing long URLs shown as a link.

But if you print out a page then all you see is 'click here', whereas if the URL is also the link then you can access the related page.

Also, you don't know where you are being sent with 'click here'; I like to see the URl first.
