Hard disk recorders or PVR with built in freeview

Anyone out there got a hard disk recorder with built in freeview that will allow you to record stuff from a VHS recorder that would be plugged into a scart lead?

I don't think there is such a thing but maybe there is?

Don't know about plugging the vhs directly in to the recorder, but it can be done, no problem - hook the video player and the dvd recorder to the tv.

Set the dvd to record the video channel - usually AV1, AV2, EXT1.....

Press record on the recorder, and play on the video.

PVRs tend not to have an external input for video as they are designed primarily to record off air pictures.
There are however DVD recorders with Feeview and a HDD. These machines do have connections for external sources. The HDD gives you more flexibility and a recording space of around 80 hours at standard compression (2Gig per hour). This can of course be altered to suit your own requirements. For VHS copies I think you could get away with a much lower quality threshold as VHS is pretty ropey.

Sony do a range of machines which have 1080i upscaling starting with the 870 ( around �200 but check online) which is very good.
Try other mfrs. such as Panasonic, Philips and Samsung.
