Nero - not burning!

What's with this Nero? First up it transcoded my 699mb avi file, telling me it would take up 4.37gb of the disc. Then, in burning mode, it ejects the disc and tells me that there isn't enough room on it. I ended up doing the burn with NTI and it took up less than half the disc. Can anyone tell me what's going on?

yes it tried to turn your avi file into a fully functioning dvd to be watched on ordinary players, their usual size is about 4.7 gig. what you needed to do was creade a data disc and just add the files to it

Thanks Elmek, but the disc I 've just burned plays OK on my ordinary player and I've used the process before numerous times with Nero and can't understand why it's carrying on this way now. Liz
