Can you delete?

Hi all, Can anyone tell me if you can delete older versions of programmes on your C Drive, that you have updated, for example Apple Quicktime 7.5. can I delete the older versions, also can I delete any older programmes that have been updated, as my documents folder, is choc-a-block full of old programmes, but Iam unsure if they are obsolete, once you install the newer version, many thanks in advance.

when you say "delete from my documents folder" do you mean the files that you actually downloaded and then used to installed from? is so, yes, you can delete these as soon as you have installed the program, nothing should be installed in my documents, thats just a storage folder.

As for installing obsolete programs you click on the start menu select setting and control panel, then select add remove programs and you can uninstall anything you no longer need or is obsulete from there.

Thank you for your reply ChuckFickens, yes that's what I meant, when I download a programme to install, I download to my documents folder, so I can scan it with AVG before I install, but all the older versions of every programme I've installed, are still there, so you're saying I can delete all of the installers? ----------Yes?

yep once they are installed the original files are no longer needed at all, even if it's a current version.
