Ive made a project in imovie, and now I want to burn it to a disc, but when i go into imovie it says that my macintosh does not have a supported superdrive therefore while i can use imovie, i cannot burn any projects to disc?

Can any mac--whizzkids tell me why this is? And is there then no way that i can burn to disc?!

Silly macs been stressing me out all morning!

not a maccie - but it sounds to me as if you just have a reader

perhaps a USB drive is an option

What kind of a USB Drive?

Why would they not make it be able to burn dvds? Its a flipping 800 computer...grr mac anger me sometimes!

thanks.
Quite honestly I can't be bothered trawling the whole site ... the spec says it comes with an optical drive

they sell an external dvd burner which would seem to support that - at a mere 100 - in apple terms it's a bargain!
(it looks sooooo much nicer than a nasty old 20.00 PC one!)

Best is to wait and see what the mac users can come yo with

but it does come with a Display polishing cloth - which seems like a far more valuable accessory
Yes, the most basic Macbook still comes with a Combodrive. This reads DVD-ROM, but only writes to CD-R/RW.

The Superdrive is in the rest of them, that also burns to DVD too. It does say this on the Apple Store website, or in a physical Apple Store. (Though I do agree that no laptops should come without DVD writing abilities now.)

Do this:
Click Apple logo (top left) -> About this mac -> More info...

Click "disc burning" on the left.

It'll show you just what it can and cannot burn to.

What does it say?

(Unfamiliar with iMovie, but you could always burn to SVCD. For a regular TV, hardly any difference in quality probably.)
