what is happening if my ipod is ringing and lighting up at weird times like 2am?

yeh thats the 1st thing i thought !!! not actually owning one but my guess would be that youve set the alarm for 2am somehow !!!

Mine is an old ipod so doesn't have an alarm but it does light up suddenly for no apparant reason. I keep it next to my bed and sometimes it wakes me up with the sudden bright light in the middle of the night. I have no idea why it does it, it has been doing it for 18 months and still works fine!
