monitor problem - web pages stretched

Hi

I cannot see all of my web pages - they appear to be stretched, for example on my desktop I cannot see the first row of icons on the left hand side of the screen and cannot see the close button or time on the right. I have tried using the monitor menu buttons which include items like pincushion/trapeze/height size etc but cannot get back to normal screen view.( I have a feeling some-one has used these and that might have caused the problem) Also the right hand side of the web page (when viewed in minimize) appears to be slanting in..

Is there anywhere I can find/reset a default option for the monitor settings. I have looked in control panel etc..

you are on the right lines, it is the menus you said you need to use.

Putting it back to default is not normally the best way to do it as it won't be the optimal settings, you need to be using the horizontal and vertical sizes and position to get the screen the correct size again and in the centre and the pincushion and trapezoid settings to get the shape right and square again.

have a look here for explanations of the settings the top half of the page is all about setting brightness and contrast, the bottom part is about setting the size and geometry which is what your interested in.
