Got a WindowsUpdate_80070005 error a year ago and have been slack in getting it sorted so hopefully someone can help. So, this code is given when I attampt to get the security centre to update from the net, and Help is no help as the code doesn't appear on their list.

Any advice would be great, cheers

You dont say if you are on XP or Vista.

I did a search on 80070005 in Google and got quite a few hits so you are not alone.

Some problems seem to get very complex and are not easy to fix

I went into microsoft.com and did a search for 8007005 and got a few hits like this:

It seems the full error message is

0x80070005

If you search on that you get more hits.
