Heat loss from Property

When they are trying to emphasise heat loss from buildings you often see an external device showing heat loss by the colour red showing where most heat is lost, either through the roof, the walls or window frames. Other colours show less heat loss.

Is there an organisation that carries this out for the ordinary householder? At the moment we have to pay for Hips when selling a house. Would this scheme be more efficient? Why is not widely available? You would think the government would encourage it!

There is a company that has mapped the heat loss in most parts of Haringay, N. London. Maybe it should be used on a bigger scale to houses elsewhere?
