When does this happen, and does it say that or Paretologic?

If the latter, have you installed any of their products: http://www.paretologic.com/products/index.aspx ?

It sounds as if your system is trying to load something that is no longer in the correct place. The fix would vary depending on whether it was something you wanted or not.

Hi LeMarchland. In answer to your reply which I thankyou for, It`s only occured once so far and it does say Paretologic, and looking at your link I`m afraid doesn`t help, sorry, I do have Error Smart and Avira Antivir Personal but not with Paretologic, also what do you mean by `the fix` would vary etc? I don`t savvy PC jargon well. TIA
If you haven't (knowingly) got any Paretologic programs, I would go to START>CONTROL PANEL>ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS (though I seem to have the idea that you are on Vista - if so the shortcut is slightly different, but unfortunately I don't have a Vista machine to hand to look it up on). Look for any of the Paretologic programs listed on the link and remove them if found. Also obtain Spybot (it's free from - http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/in dex.html ), install, update and run a search. Use the "Fix" option to fix any errors/nasties found.

If there were any programs in Add/Remove that seemed to be from the company, and/or if Spybot found any likely culprits, then hopefully your problem will be cured. If you still get the window I can think of another way that should disable it, but it will not remove the root cause - which I am hoping the 2 techniques above should do.
If its a Rundll32 error then the Run key has been left behind but it cant find the exe file to run.

Hi again LeMarchand,, No I`m not on vista, but on Virgin Media. I`ve had a look at the link and am totally confused as to know what or which to choose to download, as previously stated I am not very conversant with computers and it`s complexities. Could you help further? TIA

S`mee again, just looked at add/remove progs and I cant see any Paretologic programmes to cancell. And Mac 70...there is no ref to Rundll32 and what`s this `Run Key` you mention? and exe file? Have mercy people..... on the totally illiterate PC users!!!!!!perleeeeeeese.
OK, lots of points to clear up/answer.

First off, XP and Vista are different versions of the Windows "operating system" (OS). Whilst many things are the same between the two, there are quite a few differences. Virgin Media is your Internet Service Provider (ISP) - the company who supplies your internet connection.

The error message mentions Paretologic, and it's format suggests that it is having a problem loading one of that manufacturer's programs. The first link I posted shows their product range, and I was hoping that you might recognise one of their products. There's no need to download any of them.

The second link (Safer Networking) contains a link (the first in the list) to "Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.6.0", which is what I think you ought to try as a first attempt.

A Rundll32 error is the type of error you are getting. It means that your computer is being told to run (via a run key) a program (or executable - exe for short) but it cannot find the program to run. Normally this is because the file has been moved, or the program has only been partially installed or uninstalled. (Hence my hope that you might find them in Add/Remove Programs).

A few sites on the net also suggested that (at least in their early days) Paretologic were not the most reputable of companies. If you have one of these earlier versions installed, hopefully Spybot will root it out. It's a good program to have and keep updated (and scan with regularly) anyway.

If this does not work, then there are other things to try - I just didn't want to give you a huge list! Mind you, if the error isn't reoccurring, you may just want to keep your fingers crossed! (It may be that it was set to run only once)
