.. Turned on the computer this morning and the Start toolbar is at the top of the screen instead of the bottom .. please someone, tell me how I get it back to normal!! Thanks in advance.
Right.. if you look at the word 'Start there is a little gap next to the button.... if you click on that gap and drag it, the toolbar will follow wherecer you drag it... just drag it to the bottom again.
Hope you understand what I mean, and hope it works.
It's actually called the taskbar - click on an empty part of it & hold down the mouse button as you drag it to where you want it .
Then right-click on start select properties> taskbar then check the box that says 'lock the taskbar'
Thanks both. The taskbar is now back at the bottom! Billy - I've right clicked on Start but I don't have Properties on the menu that pops up.. Is there another way I can lock the taskbar to prevent this from happening again?
I'm using Windows 2000 squarebear .. now when I'm on the internet (browsing with Firefox) my clock is missing (bottom right hand corner) Do you think I have a nasty in my computer? These goings on are rather strange.
No, it sounds like you just been clicking about.
One of the options on the toolbar properties is "show the clock". make sure that box has a tick in it.
Hi , sorry I was assuming XP or Vista. It's not possible to lock it in 2000 , there is a way to disable it completely but it's a bit techie . Here is the link if you wish http://forums.techarena.in/window-2000-help/80 1940.htm
