spam emails

I get hundreds of spam emails everyday. My email account is with tiscali and when I went away for four days I had 750 spam emails. I can only delete them 15 at a time which is realy tedious. hundreds are these awful ones encouraging you to buy viagra!!! They are a real nuisance and I even the titles are rude. How can i stop them once and for all? I tried blocking them individually but it doesn't work HELP please anyone

Doesn't Tiscali have a spam filter you can turn on like BT?

I would assume not from you question.

2 practical suggestions

1) change your ISP to one that does

2) it's possible you are getting so many because your name is in your email (eg, johnsmith@etc). A lot of spam is computer generated, and they use name combo's. If you have a facilities for more than one email, devise a name more random, and start using that - that way you'll get less spam, and the "right" mails will be easier to pick out.

Or, just thought, try a spam filter - have a look on download.com, there are some there.

Forget using your ISP's email systems. They're all, without exception, not very good.

Gmail can be used as mail fetcher too - it fetches all my emails from blueyonder and so on, so they are in one place.
