Can anyone tell me how to use the one printer with both PC's? The PC,s are connected to the internet using a router. Layman's terms would be appreciated. TIA.

I just went into the XP help and searched for "Sharing a printer" and found quite a few examples of how to do it.
Many questions on AB could be answered by a search of the XP or Vista help. It even goes up to the internet and finds help available there which it displays.
It is worth trying sometime.

You could also buy a network-ready or wireless printer (it's unlikely yours already is) or a print server which connects your printer to the router rather than one of your computers. Both ways mean that you only need the computer you are using turned on, but involve stumping up some cash.
