How to get my website to appear in search results?
6 Answers
Hi,
I have a website which I need to get to appear in search results. I am new to all this and don't know where to start. Just wondering if anyone can give me information on what I need to do, if there are any good packages I can use etc. etc.
Any information anyone can give me would be really appreciated.
Many thanks

Do you have meta data and a title in your site? You also need to have keywords listed on your site. Search Google for add site to google, and do the same for all the other big sites. Finally, try and get as many relevant links to your site and link back.
I tried this once, but gave up and used a great company. Now page 1 google - best bit of money I spent, if you want their details let me know.

Hi,
Thanks for your help, I really am new to all this and am struggling to understand your answer!
I don't even know what meta data is...
I have searched google but it refers to this meta data stuff and I don't understand what this means.
Can you give me the details of the company you used? Was it expensive though? Not wanting to spend much money.... I know I'm probably hoping for a bit much!
Thanks for your answer :-)

I think the learning curve would be to much as I found it to be. As someone explained to me if you have a specialist job that needs doing in your house you get an expert in :-)
I used a company called domain33 (www.domain33.com). I cant recommend them highly enough - they were first class real experts. I spent a couple of hundred of pounds but made that back twenty times with my on line business. In the long term, you will be much better off, this is the voice of experience!!!
Good luck!

Google works in mysterious ways and keywords in the head don't seem to make much difference.
The text on your actual page seems to have more impact with listing. One way that I know of to get the bot to notice you is to put your keywords as plain small text at the top of your page in the same colour as your background.
As an example..... The colour of the grey bar on top of this page has a hex code of #666666. You could put words in there pertaining to the site (keywords) in the same colour so nobody can see them but google will.
Depending on the profit potential of your site, it may well be false economy to skimp on listing funds. As herc said, use a specialist company to get rapid results. If you have heaps to spend you can get instant top 10 listing with Google but is you may need to mortgage your house.
Don't waste your dough on those multi listing scams where they promise listing with 100 or more search engines. Google and Yahoo make up over 95% of the worldwide(except asia) first preference search engine.
