After several attempts, and a lot of help from a lot of AB'ers, I'm still none the wiser as to the answer to Tim Moorey's "seasonal rose" question on this week's crossword. The letters - A E A Y E T R L - appear to be an anagram for a "seasonal type of rose", contained in either (3,5) or (5,3) words. I know the story about Tim's embarrassing bloomer, but I still don't know the right answer! Can anyone tell me?

a long shot, but the letters make up "early tea", tea being a kind of rose, and the phrase relates to cricket (currently in season)?????

Are you sure those are the letters? It says 'take the first letter of each wild one and the last letter of each cut one'. So I make them C P C S A T A Y. And I haven't a clue what 3,5 that's supposed to be!
