OK -I could phone SKY but chances of getting an answer are slim to nil.
Just in last few months my Sky Box has gone on stand-by every night. Therefore anything I wanted recorded later on has 'failed'.
I dont understand how it knows im not watching for a start as I dont unplug- and also when I go away on Saturday for a week -I have a few series links which I dont want to miss.
hi there,
apparently in the settings menu somewhere, there is a setting you can change to stop it automatically going to standby after a certain time but i'm not at home at the mo so cant have a look where. I would be worried that its not recording programmes when in standby mode though, as i record quite a few things late at night and overnight and always put my box on standby when i go to bed and have never had this problem. afraid you might have to ring sky - good luck!
i assume you are talking about a sky+ box? if so being on stand-by would have no impact on your recordings.the box does not need to be left at a menu to record. maybe try a system reset/reboot?

you will lose your recorded progs and series links so make a note of them first but this is the hidden engineers menu so may help.
Yeah its a sky+ box -right thats sound-thanks guys.I'll get rid of all the rubbish ive recorded (JK) and take a note of my series links. What happens is that when I go to watch them they have FAILED next to the programme -I was bemused but stupidly thought it was some energy saving thing that had been brought in for when you didnt have the TV on *blush*
Just that there are a couple of good series on the go and looks like I wont catch them when I get to Spain on Saturday -thats nother thread -anyone want to buy lucky white heather lol !!!
