i cant see how to put my photo in the space on my msn where it shows a duck, i tried the help icon but did nt ubderstand as only just getting used to using a pc even though its been a while but i am an oldie ha. also can all contacts read what your putting to one or not ?

ok, open msn then on the menu bar at the top go to 'tools' then 'change my display picture'. now click on 'browse' and search your pc for the picture you want to use then click 'ok'

As Mavis has said above, you can make a picture available as described - all your friends will be able to see that picture. However, only you and the mate you are chatting with are able to read what you are talking about (I have no idea whether Microsoft or other remote powers that be can do that but certainly no other users can see what you are typing unless you have invited them into the same chat).

Little hint - if you want to keep a record of conversations you have with other msn users, then make sure you look at this option:-

Options
Messages
then click on *automatically keep a record of my conversations*.... these will get stored on your pc in the folder shown below that statement....

cant find where the tools button is on msn

There should be little icons along the top , under your name , it's the icon last on your right , looks like a page with an arrow , click on that icon and you will see the top option is sign out , and further down is tools. x
