New Printer

I have just bought an Epson D92 inkjet printer , I have connected it to my laptop, but it will not print, the Wizard takes me through printing photographs and says it has finished printing the photos but nothing happens ! it won't print letters etc. It says the magenta ink cartridge needs replacing but it was a brand new Epson cartridge supplied with the printer. ALSO the little printer symbol appears on the computer & immediately goes off again. Can anyone tell me what is wrong. PLEASE.

Did you remove any tabs from the new ink cartridge before installing it? Sometimes there are tabs sealing the ink when it's in the packet.
