Music transfer

How can i transfer my music from my hard drive, on to my I pod without going through i tunes. I am a complete novice so will be grateful for any help.

Um i'm not a complete expert on this, but i'm obsessed with my ipod, and i don't think you can, the only way you can do it is through itunes! apple are horrible like that >:(

it can be done without Itunes but you will need other 3rd party software... such as....

Yamipod works well for this, but I'm not sure why you'd want to do this. iPods work very well with iTunes. They're meant to be used this way.
