HELP
I'm trying to activate windows by phone and keep getting asked to enter my "Installation six numbers group"
What are they and where can I find them?
My product key has 5 groups of 5 letters/numbers so they don't mean this. Can anyone help please
ps. It's an automated phone service so I can't ask questions

Go into product activation and choose activate by phone. At that point you will be shown the group of numbers which are required. This set of numbers is generated based on the product key that you entered when you installed, a number of parameters based on your hardware setup, and the date and time, so don't write the numbers down then call the activation line later - get the numbers up on screen and call right away.

Does this help

I think when you activate by phone you FIRST have to enter your 5 groups of 5 letters/lnumbers.
After you have done that it shows you a set of numbers / letters which you have to RE-ENTER.
This I think is the 6 numbers it is asking for.
If you are connected to the interent you can activate via the interet and you dont need to do any of that (although maybe you are not connected to the interent which is why you are doing it by phone)

This explains it a bit better

Note under "Activaton process" it says:
"Activation can either be performed over the Internet with a utility supplied with the software, or via a telephone call to a Microsoft agent. For activation via a telephone call, a longer "phone activation code" must be read to the Microsoft agent who supplies a code to activate Windows."
So you need to phone activation code.
This "phone activation code" is auto generated by the computer and shoud be displayed on your screen.
WRITE IT DOWN.
This is the number you need to give to the phone operator.
