anyone one want to buy a set of discs and pads?..i was ready to replace at 30,000....doh!

I expect all fittings to last the life of the car; mine is now 10y old have changed tyres 'cause I clip pavements, w/screen wipers 'cause of use when frozen, automatic - MOT passed brakes, patched exhaust and rarely serviced as I believe "If it works, dont fix it".
I dont wash it nor clean inside as burglars dont want dirty cars like my baby.

Can't work out oxy word.....have been driving for eons with 3points (probably get some more 2day)! I drive miles out of my way to avoid cameras.....and listen to my 'copy CDs'.

I seem to recall from the 60`s & 70`s, that the old asbestos containing pads didn`t erode the discs as quickly & didn`t give off the nasty dust that now eats the paint or lacquer on your wheels. However, that said, my trusty old Nova (83,000 mls) is about to get its 1st pair of discs, & my trusty Corsa ( 58,000 miles) ones will probably do for another 10k or more. I think a lot depends on looking ahead & spreading ones braking intelligently. So often I potter up to a red light & pass the car that zoomed past & braked hard for the same red light, also saving fuel from my rolling start!
