Hi Guys & Girls,

This is my last resort before steam comes from my ears as I jump up and down on top of my wrieless router. The Problem: I have recently bought a dell computer and decided to include in the order a Belkin G Series ADSL Wirless Router. I have only just got round to sorting out the router and it doesnt freeking work!!

I have an internet connection on my TalkTalk modem, but when I follow the instructions on setting up the Belking Router in the booklet, it doesnt do what it says??? I have typed the IP address in and only sometimes does it pop up with the belkin screen, but then doesnt have the setup wizard?

The cd is useless apparently if you cant do the first stage, and the call centre is even worse, one, because it is abroad and they read off a list, and two, because they tell me to take the router back to the shop even though dell dont have shops, and tell me I need to get another computer just top set up the router!!!

PLEASE HELP ME, YOUR MY LAST HOPE

Mine is a Dell D620, all singing & dancing; on BT home hub.....works a treat, fast as lightening. Go back to Dell to fix problems.
didn't you want to post this in 'technology' luv??

That is a very good idea! I dont use this site much, as you can see! : )
you havn't had much of a response in technology either have you?
Never mind, someone will come along later and help you out, I'm sure.

Better to put it in the Computers sub-section of Technology.
I had this problem with Belkin Wireless G+ MIMO router, and I found that it was the ISP that was the problem. At the time, mine was Virgin / NTL and the router wasn't compatible with that so Ihad to buy a different router.

Although the customer service centre is in another country I did find them very helpful and they gave me the exact model number of the router I could use, then within minutes of buying it I was set up and ready to go.

Maybe you have been unfortunate in the customer service reps you have spoken to but I have to agree it is annoying when they read from the script, especially when they are waiting for a screen to load and you get the standard "How is your day today Mrs ....", but the screen obviously loads in front of them and they don't wait for your answer because they don't really care atall LOL

Ha Ha, I know exactly what you mean. This guy asked me to buy a laptop to resolve the problem of programming the router... I couldnt stop laughing, and asked if he thought I was made of money.

I might just go out and buy a standard netgear router, they seem to work for everyone else, and stick my Belkin one on ebay.?
