i have just videoed my friends wedding and unfortunately during the speeches there is alot of background noice from outside (wind rain etc) does anyone know of any video editing software that can mute out the background noice and enhance the speeches. iv used windows vista movie maker to edit the rest but you cant seperate the audio so im a bit stuck.

please help if you can

You may not be able to do this without a professional mixing desk. it's one of those learning curves - this is why you give the speaker a little mike on their lapel, cos the mike on your camera is just pointing 'at the world'
As mentioned once the sound has been recorded at low quality (large amount of background noise) ther is little you can do to improve it afterwards. Best put this down to experience and use a mic closer to the speaker's mouth next time.
