Hi There

Can anyone tell me what i need to do here.

I recently went to Jamaica, (a rather remote part), where there are very few and far between hot spots for my wireless laptop to pick up internet access.

The situation is. Not many people have landlines, and certainly no one I know there has. I have found one hot spot, but it is at least 20 minutes up a hill. And there is no power supply, so I can only get a max 2 hours surfing time.

SO my question is. Lots of people use mobile phones, and i know that T-mobile and alike offer a dongle and an internet access service via the mobile network. What do i have to do to get my pc compatible with the mobile networks out there. (The networks are DigiCell and Jamaican Cabl and Wireless)

It was suggested that i get a PC aircard, but i think that i need to subscribe or get a pay as you go mobile with internet service. This sounds very complicated and probably expensive.

Can you suggest any alternatives, or at least talk me through what i need to do. I will be going bac k to Jamaica soon.

I thank you in advance.
